Automobiles in Germany's City Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Police Report

Authorities mentioned they were notified by a man who found a vehicle in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Police report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Police then located multiple other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials state early analysis show the substance was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to its source; authorities are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they stated.

Local authorities said they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.

A high-ranking representative stated the attack left him speechless and needed to be addressed promptly.

"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the death of nine victims by a shooter focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
